Just hear from CNA talking point. Josephine Teo said that double-decker bus fuel consumption is 1km/L.
Waoh ..............
Is that really truth? Anyone know the answer.
Or the bus driver really have a bad foot. Keep on accelerating and sudden brake driving style.

Actually I expected 3~5km/l running on diesel.
Diesel engine should be more environment take less fuel.

Now diesel engine improve a lot. Many small car in Europe using diesel now can have 25km/l. Which is much environment freindly.

Think about it. A Honda accord goes 11km/l. Its not ridiculous for a double deck bus to need 1km/l. And a car can only carry 5 person max. A bus can carry 10 times that number. So fuel per person, bus is actually way more efficient. I am actually surprise the fuel consumption is not higher

Maybe you never encounter those drive big lorry carry sand/granite/soil how heavy load they are ferry is much higher than double decker bus. You should ask them.

Do you know how bad the quality of maintenance is for taxis, buses and MRT? Look at the oil stain marks on the floor, burnt buses, screeching MRT tracks when not broken down. Yes. All better than Malaysia but hey, Malaysia has GDP per capita 1/6 of Singapore leh. We have GDP per capita higher than Japan. Can you tell me what is wrong with this picture?

Seldom take public transport bus/MRT.
But what I can see for my self is quality of the maintenance drop to 3rd world country. Escalator jerky not smooth, MRT track not smooth, walking below MRT track can heard very loud sound compare to 10 year ago. Bus burnt half way.......................................and many more.
