Samsung Electronics unveiled new products such as refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, washing machines and dryers to customers globally, Tuesday, as part of its efforts to expand the presence of its Bespoke home appliance brand.
In June 2019, Samsung launched a new refrigerator in the Korean market as the first model under the Bespoke home appliance brand and saw a huge success, enabling customers to tailor the colors and designs of the exteriors of their appliances.
After witnessing the success, Samsung expanded its Bespoke lineup to various home appliances and advanced into overseas markets in 2021. To expand into more overseas markets, the company held an online event, called Bespoke Home, for global media and unveiled the latest Bespoke appliances.
"The positive response from the Bespoke Home event last year showed us that our vision for a better home life through inspirational design, customization and intelligent connectivity struck a chord with people around the world," Lee Jae-seung, the president and head of Digital Appliances Business at Samsung, said.
"This year, we are excited to build on our vision by offering consumers more ways to be self-expressive, experience the connected services and live more sustainably at home with Bespoke," Lee added.
Samsung said this year's Bespoke kitchen and living appliances have more stylish colors, updated features and premium finishes. In particular, the company added the Bespoke AI washer and dryer as well as the Bespoke kitchen package, comprised of an oven, dishwasher and induction cooktop, to its product lineup for overseas markets.
For the European market, one of Samsung's major markets with high purchasing power, the Bespoke kitchen package includes an artificial intelligence (AI) technology-powered oven, the company said. The Bespoke oven, which will be launched in the second half of this year, offers connected features, helping users cook efficiently and with more ease. In July, Samsung will release the new Bespoke AI washer and dryer in the U.S. and Europe.
The company will also expand the number of service countries for its SmartThings Home Life ― an internet of things (IoT) service, which enables users to remotely control various home appliances ― to 97 countries within this month.
Not only users of Samsung appliances, but also users of appliances made by more than 200 partners, can use the SmartThings service. Remote control features such as cooking, energy control, clothing care, pet care and air system control are available with the service, the company said.
