SINGAPORE: Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Sam Tan will defend the People's Action Party’s (PAP) Radin Mas Single Member Constituency (SMC) seat in the coming General Election (GE).

Mr Tan was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Tanjong Pagar Group Representation Constituency (GRC) from 2006 to 2011 before moving to Radin Mas SMC for the last round of polls.

He is also Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth, and previously served as parliamentary secretary in several ministries. Prior to entering politics, Mr Tan worked at the People’s Association from 1983 to 1992 and then the Chinese Development Assistance Council until 2009.

At the last GE, he defeated National Solidary Party candidate Yip Yew Weng with 67.1 per cent of the vote. This time, Mr Kenneth Jeyaretnam’s Reform Party has declared their intent to contest the Radin Mas seat.

In a break from tradition, the ruling PAP said it would announce its entire slate of candidates for the GE before the National Day Rally on Aug 23.

Uncle Sam will keep his seat! 67% is pretty good for PAP!

Now a PMO jiakliaobee has been arrowed to go where backdoor doggies fear to tread.

Truly scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Radin Mas is an SMC. Opposition cocksuckers should be glad that a Minister of State is willing to take on the opposition in single-combat.

Don't you opposition cocksuckers always say that PAP ministers ride on other people's coat tails to get into parliament? Try to unseat Sam Tan then!

Singapore would be better off if it could hang opposition troublemakers from the street lamps as a warning to potential trouble makers. The people of Singapore will unite together with the PAP government to protect Singapore's stability, prosperity and progress from the evil forces of the opposition.
