Salesman jailed one month for molesting woman

SINGAPORE - A sales executive who grabbed the buttock of a woman was jailed for one month on Monday (April 11).
Keith Lim Chin Han, 35, admitted to molesting the 25-year-old woman at the traffic junction of Balestier Road and Kim Keat Road on Jan 26 this year.
The court heard that the woman had just finished her workout at a gym at Balestier Road and proceeded to walk home.
As she was waiting to cross the traffic junction of Balestier Road and Kim Keat Road, Lim approached her from behind and molested her.
She immediately turned and saw Lim who was the only person around.
He walked next to her and tried to chat her up. He commented that she was "very fit" and asked her where she lived. She ignored him. He continued to talk to her and she eventually scolded him before walking away towards a bank at Shaw Plaza.
Lim continued to follow her to the bank. The woman subsequently called the police after she had left the building.
Lim was arrested on Feb 17. He told police that he had been out drinking alcohol the night before and had slept outside one of the shop houses along Balestier Road. He had also drunk a can of beer that morning before the incident.
His lawyer Amarjit Singh said Lim's wife, who was in court, has forgiven him, and that his client provides financially for his three children.
A second theft charge was taken into consideration in sentencing.
Lim could have been jailed for up to two years, fined, caned or received any combined punishment for outrage of modesty.
