The Ministry of Manpower recently released new findings on the increase in income of low-wage workers by 31% from $1,500 in 2009 to $1,972 in 2014.
This is attributed to the effect NTUC and unions had through Progressive Wage, procurements initiatives, Inclusive Growth Programme, amendments to the Employment Act and skills upgrading.
