PEASANTPORE: The Reform Party's candidate for the Punggol East by-Erection Sabo Jeya has argued for a stronger opposition voice in an Imperial Court and said that he would be "fearless" about demanding transparency from ruthless regime that crushed his father many full moons ago.
In the final rally just before Cooling-off Day, Sabo Jeya hit out at both the regime and the Labour party that his papa once led. The transformed Labour under Angry Teochew is widely seen as the strongest among the three political dissenting parties in the by-erection. Other non-descript speakers at the rally used 7th Month toastmaster tactics, also spoke about the need for more than just one dominant opposition voice in a dour Imperial Court.
Sabo Jeya proposed why stupid peasants should translate their "curiosity" about him, "disenchantment towards the Wayang' Party" and "anger towards the regime" into votes for the Reform Party who will probably never shy away from any question that can be used to make Ruler Loong look like a petty Persian merchant.
"Like my papa, I too have many pricky questions but I also have a lot of the answers that the regime do not want to share with you. If you (let) an political economist ask these hard to answer questions, you will finally see how a brave opposition will ask questions. Look how Old Autocrat burnt my papa in a bonfire after he was outclassed by my Papa Lion! I not scared because such tactics will not work now. Believe me, we nehs can farking talk. I can outclass our Cambridge mathematics trained Ruler or even Neh turncoat Tarman in a debate, any day without ISD interference.
Which is why the regime refuses to (have a) debate with me because I run circles around them, perhaps Lecher Palmer or 山木庚 or that Babu Singh is my match. Only by sending me rather than the tolerated Labour dissenters into Imperial Court, will we get proper fireworks. You send that Labour Lian, she will only beg Ruler Loong to lower wet market rentals in exchange for less pricky questions!" he said.
Sabo Jeya also questioned the regime's political economy driven policies. This includes issues such as pro-foreigner immigration and the rising cost of living to enrich state coffers and improverish indolent peasants.
He said that as an economist while not politically trained, he has ready policy alternatives that may result in his lynching or be send to the bonfires. But he has the guts to ask them just to make life difficult for Ruler Loong!
Sabo Jeya went on to list the various alternative policies the Reform party has proposed - such Anglo Saxon inspired ones, as giving peasants free pre-school education, universal health care insurance and a reduced duration for National Serfship, all immensely populist move but he stop short of the COE and ERP cash cows.
"I will be fearless (in) demanding transparency and accountability from the regime despite threats from ISD and CPIB. I will face the trials wherever they try to shut me up! Of course I will (also) play a destructive role in Imperial Court, ever see how the Nehs debate in their own Court? That is why we have policy alternatives that are better than the regime… The Reform Party will be nationalistic and propose populist policies following Thaksin's example in Siam," he said.
Sabo Jeya added that despite being a new face in the ward, peasants have been friendly towards him but that is the Asiatic approach and it applies to Ruler Loong despite peasants' hatred for the Lees.
He had previously said that if he were to be erected, he would be a full time Peasants' Representative, kiss West Coast goodbye and move to Punggol East. However he is less generous than Pork Seller Lim because he will only set aside 10 per cent of his stipends for the community.
Sabo Jeya said that he would be prepping his polling and counting agents on Friday's Cooling-off Day so that they will not feel dishearten when the poor results cum in on Sunday.
However wise peasants knew he has little chance and but his deposit is a good investment for the publicity for the 2016 General Erections. In addition, it is expected Ruler Loong will reward him and Pork Seller Lim for the vote splitting, as the peasant saying goes, 'there are no permanent enemies in politics!' Sabo Jeya and Ruler Loong can be enemies today but could be friends if they decided Labour should be fixed than to resume their personal feud.
