S.Korean burglar charged

A SOUTH Korean was charged in a district court on Thursday with housebreaking and theft of a laptop at Science Park Drive.

No plea was taken from 35-year-old Choi He Su. He is alleged to have broken into an office and stolen a $2,000 Lenovo Thinkpad notebook from Ms Yeh Xuanwen, 29, between Oct 22 and 25.

Choi, believed to be involved in several break-ins, was detained in Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Sunday Dec 19 with the help of the Royal Malaysian Police.

He was remanded for a week for further investigation. The case will come up for mention on Thursday Dec 30.

The maximum penalty for housebreaking and theft is 10 years.

South Korean faces more break-in charges

A SOUTH Korean who was accused of housebreaking and theft of a $2,000 laptop was charged on Thursday with 35 more counts.

Choi Hee Soo, 35, is alleged to have broken into various offices in places such as Science Park Drive, Raffles Place, Orchard Road and Ubi between Oct 21 and 31, 2010.

One of the fresh charges is an attempted burglary at a premise in International Business Park.

He was remanded for another week for investigation.

The case will be mentioned on Thursday Jan 6.
