A deadly explosion blew up certain portions of a madrassa at South Keraniganj on Friday morning. Four people including children and women were seriously wounded in the explosion.
The madrassa is located at Hasnabad area of South Keraniganj. Two rooms of the madrassa were totally blown up by the huge explosion. Police force has informed that cocktails, chemicals and materials used for making bombs were found on the occurrence spot.
The affected institution's name is Ummul Qura International Madrassa.
Officer-in-Charge of South Keraniganj Police Station Saiful Alam said that bomb squad members were working on deactivating the explosives found at the place where this inadvertent thing happened. OC Saiful Alam further said that crime scene investigators examined the place to find out the real causes behind this explosion.
The injured victims include Sheikh Al Amin (32), his spouse Asia Begum (28) and their sons Umayet (10) and Abdullah (7).
The building owner Parveen Begum was shocked and astonished to learn that bomb making kits were found in the madrassa. She urged the law and order forces to immediately unearth what was actually going on inside the madrassa under the veil of Shariah education.
