Serious Rocket Man Attacks AMK! SAF Where?

A mystery suspect fired a "rocket" at a fruit stall near Block 226 Ang Mo Kio yesterday afternoon, causing alarm to the shop keeper of the affected stall and the surrounding hawker center patrons.


According Chinese newspaper Wanbao, the rocket might have been a fire work sparkler as it emitted sparks and a hissing sound as it flew into the stall and exploded with a pop.

When it exploded, it threw up sparks at least 1 meter into the air. The panicked stall owner managed to fling the sparkler out of the stall under a nearby table where it continued to burn and emit white hot sparks.

The sparkler was put under control after 2 other passersby launched a fire extinguisher at it.

The police were alerted and arrived within minutes of the incident. No one was hurt during the attack, although the culprit remains at large.

The Russian Strategic Missile Force has tested the modern Yars intercontinental ballistic missile. The previous test of the ICBM was conducted last week.
The launch was conducted on Wednesday from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in northwestern Russia by troops of the 14th missile division, which is stationed near the city of Yoshkar Ola in the southern part of central Russia.

The launcher-based solid propellant missile carried its multiple warhead payload to the Kura target range in Kamchatka in Russia’s Far East.

The Russian Defense Ministry released video of the launch. It said the test has confirmed the capabilities of the batch of ICBMs, which was the goal of the exercise.

The previous test of this type of missile was conducted on September 12 from a silo in Plesetsk.

The RS-24 Yars is a modern variant of the Topol-M missile series, designed to replace old liquid-propellant UR-100N missiles, which are better known under their NATO designation SS-19 Stiletto. The Yars made its maiden flight in 2007 and was given the green light for deployment two years later.

Five rocket divisions in Russia are currently armed with Yars missiles deployed in silos or on mobile launchers.

Most likely shot from a distance by an oppie. Otherwise, it would be a 'grenade', not a rocket.

This is a golden opportunity to round up oppies like Chee and Low and lock them up indefinitely for many years. I wouldn't be surprised if this was done by one of their supporters.

Apparently a 49 yr old chap apprehended for the act. Had previously thought it was a small boy who prepared the IED.
