He'll get plenty of playing time at Arsenal.
Not with Giroud and Podolski around.
And how long has Arsenal's trophy drought been? 7-8 years? There won't be another trophy for quite some time.

Van Persie left Arsenal because of a difference in vision between himself and Wenger and Ivan Gazidis. RVP wants to win trophies, Champions League, Premiership etc. Arsenal couldn't demonstrate that commitment by investing in top quality players so he left. To put it bluntly, Wenger is a tight miser. He had money from the sale of Fabregas, Toure, Clichy and Nasri but chose not to spend. Walcott will be the next to leave.
And no disrespect to Giroud and Podolski but they are no replacement for RVP. The £230,000 he will be getting paid per week at Man U was also a nice sweetener but not the primary reason for his move.
Another trophy-less season beacons for Arsenal I'm afraid.

I'm quite sure that if RVP had stay at Arse-nal, he would have been the starting striker in most matches, Podolski might have played on the left (same position he plays for Germany) and Giroud would be mainly on the bench.
Trophies not sure. If he had stayed at Arse-nal, they could possibly have won more trophies than Man Utd. Perhaps still the case after he's gone.
One Arse-nal fan on espn claimed that he will go to Manchester and laugh in RVP's face if Arsenal wins more trophies than Man Utd this season. :p
Pat Rice's departure was a blessing and with no pressure on the club, I expect Arsenal to do very well this season.
