In the early morning of 27 July 2012, a motorized farm vehicle collided with a cement tanker/mixer
truck at the junction of Science Avenue and Jinsuo intersection of Zhengzhou city.
The resulting carnage killed seven people and injured 13 others. The injured were evacuated to
hospital for treatment.
Because of the seriousness of the incident, the municipal government of Zhengzhou city established
a Traffic Accidents Handling Group to assist the wounded as well as to investigate the cause of the
accident.
Both the drivers of the farm vehicle and cement mixer are under police detention pending the outcome
of investigation.
