The River Safari ground-breaking ceremony was held at one of the development sites fronting the Upper Seletar Reservoir. The ceremony was attended by (from left to right) Guest-of-Honour Mr S Iswaran, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Education, Ms Aw Kah Peng, CEO, Singapore Tourism Board, Ms Claire Chiang, Chairperson, Wildlife Reserves Singapore and Ms Fanny Lai, Group CEO, Wildlife Reserves Singapore. The groundbreaking was marked by a symbolic pouring of water by all four VIPs.
