Two Chinese autonomous driving companies, WeRide and Pony.ai, will soon launch robotaxi services in Singapore through partnerships with local firms, as the city-state accelerates efforts to expand into self-driving mobility.
Ride-hailing giant Grab announced on Saturday it will partner with Guangzhou-based WeRide to operate two autonomous shuttle service routes in the Punggol area. The service, using five- and eight-seater WeRide vehicles, will begin taking passengers from early 2026 following an initial familiarisation phase to map and study the routes in detail.
“We are honoured to have been selected by the authorities to pilot these services in Punggol,” Grab said in a statement. In July, WeRide secured a permit from the Shanghai Municipal Government to operate robotaxi ride-hailing services, underscoring its growing global presence.
Might as well put 'gender studies intern' there too.
What's with this recent trend of Gen Z failed hawkers and failed job seekers moaning to the local propagandists about their problem? You think media exposure will help you?
Chenghu will not solve your problem, but it will pretend to have the desire for doing that. Govt is not Auntie Agony, Fortune God, Santa, shoulder to cry on, problem solver, prayer listener... especially this govt. Wake the fuck up.
