Residents bribed to praise city

Residents in Shaoyang, Hunan Province are being paid to praise the city when they get a survey call from the provincial government, the Beijing News reported.
"When people in Shaoyang say nice things about the city, the city can really be good," says the text message.
It also promised any reisident doing so could get a 300 yuan subsidy.
The local authority explained that residens praising the city can be helpful in attracting investments and promoting the local economy.
