Guys, boycott china and made in china stuff pls, support jimmy lai and cancel hk sedition act

Hong Kong pro-democracy tycoon Jimmy Lai gets 20 years' jail

Lai, a British citizen, is the most prominent of the hundreds arrested under the law. A fierce critic of China, he often wielded his paper, Apple Daily, as a tool of protest.

Six former Apple Daily executives and two activists were also sentenced on Monday under the national security law, with terms ranging from six years and three months to 10 years.

The hk sedition act applies extrajudicially even to foreigners who say stuff overseas. If i say xjp is a dictator pig, i could be jailed in hk.

Make a stand guys. Support democracy. Boycott china, or MIC stuff.

Together we can send a strong message to ccp goons that they are unacceptable.

Esp after the UNC saga repeatedly recently.

Upvote for democracy!

I wouldn't simply because I have my own priorities when making purchase.

I prioritise quality first, then price, then other factors.

For instance, I am wary of Malaysian and China vegetables because of heavy use of pesticides. So I usually buy Singapore farm produce or AMDK country agricultural produce.

Then there is taste. I dislike Mala and most of the China china-type food. So naturally I would not buy all these funny high sodium Tiong supermarket products. Same if any product is from any other countries but contains high sodium or food additives like Japanese food products.

So it very much depends....political issue seems to be not an important criteria for me. But I will still boycott Breadtalk even if it's Singaporean owned. Simply because I believe they aren't honest people.

Similarly, even if a hawker is pro Oppie, if his food sucks, I wouldn't even patronise.

Hong Kees are more interested in making money than politics.

Many of the 'Hongkies' of today are nothing more than lowlifes transplanted from Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other parts of mainland China.

The smartest ones have run road before 1997. Then the ones who did it in the 2000s. And the last batch of brain drain after 2019. Even Li Ka Shing has run road.

Hong Kong will be subject to the same sanctions as the rest of mainland China. Good luck trying to 'make money' in that environment.

I agree. Life is too short and I don't want to be a hero. Will buy anything I fancy, as long it is good value, regardless of where it was made. I don't see the need to make any moral posturing.

Same here. Just like tissue paper, kitchen towels and disposable paper products. ABC value shop have uprooted the traditional sources in NTUC and supermarkets with all the China manufactured cheap and good disposable paper products. I have also migrated to China brands for disposable paper products because of pricing and quality.

Guess what, jimmy Lai transplanted to the UK and created insurgency us8 g his newspaper as a conduit to violent protest like what hapoened in Iran.

G 78-year-old Apple Daily founder – a British citizen – was found guilty in December 2025 of two counts of conspiring to collude with foreign forces under the Beijing-imposed national security law, and a third count of sedition under colonial-era legislation. He faced judges – handpicked to oversee national security cases – at West Kowloon Law Courts alongside eight other co-defendants, who each received up to 10 years in prison.
