When it comes to laundry in HDB blocks, the sight of clothes hanging outside the windows or on poles is nothing out of the ordinary.

However, a resident has taken a different approach by hanging their clothes vertically down the HDB parapet. This unconventional method has raised eyebrows and captured the attention of social media users.

The unusual sight was first brought to public attention when a witness shared their confusion on Facebook and TikTok. The witness posted an image showing a line of at least 16 garments and towels hanging on a string that extended over the parapet of the resident’s HDB flat.

The clothes were held in place by hangers and stretched across almost three storeys, baffling passers-by and neighbors alike.

Despite initial speculations that the clothes ended up in this position due to a string breakage, such concerns were quickly put to rest. A video shared on TikTok by the original poster showcased the resident deftly pulling the string up to collect the garments.

The resident’s smooth and practiced movements suggest that this unconventional method may not be a one-time occurrence.

The witness’s post and subsequent video provided valuable insights into the resident’s laundry habits. It became clear that the clothes were intentionally hung vertically, challenging the assumption of a mishap.

With this revelation, the focus shifted to understanding the reasoning behind this unique approach to laundry.

As the resident continued to collect approximately half of the clothes from the line, they lowered the string once more to let the clothes resume their drying under the sun.

  1. Cleaning the exterior wall of the building with cleaned clothes.
  2. 21st century castle with Rapunzel waiting inside..
  3. What’s the point ? Intruding into other levels at the same time while wiping the walls . What’s there to learn about it ? To me it’s just doesn’t make sense and blocking lighting into other people’s home.
  4. I think the string broke. But amazingly the hangers clinged on
