A deliveryman was jailed for seven years and ordered to receive nine strokes of the cane yesterday for raping his then-eight-year-old cousin in 1999.

The man, now 31, who cannot be named to protect his victim’s identity, pleaded guilty to one count of rape last Tuesday.

Two other counts of rape were taken into consideration during sentencing.

He committed all three offences when he was just 17 years old.
