Rambo Bentong' faces rape and murder charges

TEMERLOH - The notorious "Rambo Bentong", who is now serving 133 years' imprisonment for rape, unnatural sex and attempted murder, was yesterday charged with murdering and raping a 17-year-old.
Rabidin Satir, 42, of Kampung Libang Ulu, Tambunan, Sabah, allegedly killed the victim at Lot 4168, Kampung Ketari, Bentong, between 11.30pm on March 7, 2009, and 1.50pm the next day.
He was separately charged with raping the girl, which caused her death, at the same time and place.
Represented by counsel Richard Bong Chong Fook, Rabidin claimed trial to both charges read to him in the Dusun language.
Judge Datuk Azman Abdullah set the next mention date on Aug 26.
Deputy public prosecutor Siti Hajar Mustaffa prosecuted.
Clad in a bright red prison uniform, Rabidin was calm throughout the proceedings.
On Feb 5, the unemployed man was sentenced to a total of 115 years' jail on four counts of rape and one of committing unnatural sex on four victims, aged 8 to 17.
The Raub Sessions Court judge also ordered him to be given 50 strokes of the rotan after he pleaded guilty to all the charges
On March 21, he was slapped with another 18 years' jail for the attempted murder of Constable Mohd Suhaimi Md Razali, 24, who tried to apprehend him with a parang at a house in Taman Shahbandar Husin, Bentong, on Nov 14, 2012.
Rabidin was nicknamed "Rambo Bentong" as he lived in the jungle in Bentong and used a Rambo knife to threaten his victims and attack policemen.
