SINGAPORE - A woman was accidentally locked inside the cold room of a local Shop 'n Save supermarket for 10 minutes yesterday, reported citizen journalism website, STOMP.
When she was finally freed, the woman came out crying and was freezing. She was a promoter for an ice-cream brand and had gone into the cold room to get more stock.
She had used a trolley to prop open the door of the cold room so staff would know that someone was in there, but someone had pushed away the trolley and locked the cold room.
Said the STOMP reader who wrote in: "My poor mum was locked inside for 10 mins.
"No matter how hard she kicked and knocked the door, no one opened the door.
"And the emergency button in the cold room wasn't working at all.
The woman could not make calls out from her mobile phone has there was no reception at first.
When there was finally a signal, she called her manager to contact the staff there to open up the door.
"She ended up coming out crying and freezing", said the reader, who hoped the management will investigate this matter.
