Question about southern thailand and malaysia.

As you guys would know the southern most thai states or at least the entire malay archeipelago used to be malay kingdoms inhabited by malay ppl, then the kingdom of siam invaded possibly also the entire archeipelago and then the brits took over and formed malaya and signed some treaty taking over some regions of northern malaysia while siam had control of pattani etc.

Anyway with this back story established has the malaysian govt attempted to start some type of shit with the thai govt over regaining control of southern thailand states? You know how indonesia opposed the formation of malaysia and sent in commandoes and forces to sabotage malaysia and singapore during the early days has malaysia ever had some sort of military campaign to gain territory over southern thailand?
