Qst on Singpost

Packages are usually delivered by the same person that delivers your mail. When Singpost implemented a policy of if your not home then it's not their problem, they really had plenty of unhappy people when these people were not home. Just imagine having to go down to pick it up at your branch office:(

I recently received a package from the US. What surprised me is that it only took only 1 week to get here because it was delivered by Singpost What is more surprising is the package was delivered outside of the normal delivery time because the delivery was not done by the mailman.

So I'm curious whether Singpost has woken up OR is the quick delivery time due to the US company I ordered having a contract with Singpost

I did receive an email customer survey from the US company requesting feedback on when I received the package. So to Singpost, they are watching

They have contractors delivering their parcels for a very long time, but it was a sometime in & sometime out with them, what I meant was there were times they took back the delivery & then let contractors deliver.

The normal thing was the packages will come together with the daily mail delivery & the post person or contractor delivery the mail plus the package will do the job, if it is package they will deliver it to your door steps & you are not at home, a note will be left for you to collect it from the nearest post office in your area. This was fine, till they change the procedure...that you collect this from Sing Post HQ at Paya Lebar. I do not want to go into details on this, for I had in the past...in short that arrangement is not good.

I understand now that the package goes to the nearest post office, where you collect them the next working day ( WORKING DAY). Speedpost, Special delivery , EMS etc..speedpost personnel will make delivery or some private contractors..that is why you are able to receive it out of office hours..

I have seen the auto delivery boxes at HQ, but it says for those who order through Vpost will get theirs delivered there...I understand that Singpost is trying out the idea of delivering your packages ( Standard size ones) to those boxes, where you key in a code to collect your package..how many have tried this??

This is a good idea...for you can go there & collect it...24 hrs a day & next to a MRT Station ( Paya Lenar)...

I'm not complaining but just today I had 2 deliveries made twice in one day. One in the morning & in the afternoon

Previously when I ordered things from iHerb & selected delivery by Singpost, it would usually take from 2 to 4 weeks. Recently iHerb has indicated that delivery times are now 8 days. Somehow I don't think Singpost would have improved without some kind of financial incentive.
