Well methinks the Population White Paper could become the new “longest suicide note in history” especially if ESM Goh Chok Tong’s sneers reflect the attitude of the PAP towards S’poreans concerns about an overcrowded S’pore swarming with FTs.. With PM, DPM Teo and the defence and the foreign minister (only Tharman is AWOL among the PM’s most trusted ministers) trying to assure us that the govt was listening to our unhappiness, ESM said, “But cannot say that I think much of speakers’ rhetoric. Too political, too one-sided, appealing to emotions only and not shedding light on important issues.”

If PM doesn’t give ESM a tight slap soon, PM’s and the govt’s cred will take another beating. Ministers must know that they have to listen more closely to us, as they have promised to do. If ESM gets away with his comments, what’s the worth the ministers’ promises?

Another reason why the PWP could be the new “longest suicide note in history” is because...http://atans1.wordpress.com/2013/02/22/population-white-paper-paps-suicide-note/

2016 marks the end of the PAP. Toss them out and have a judicial inquiry on the PAP rule for the past 5 decades, forensic audits on MINDEF's spending, Temasek and GIC investment and the spending of the PMO.

Why are many PAP MPs holding one or more jobs in government agencies, thus enjoying two or more pay packets? For example, one MP has an NTUC appointment as well as a PA appointment, pushing his salary towards the $60k a month. How can this be justified? Why is a part-time employee earning full-time salary? There are many hanky panky appointments that need to be investigated once the PAP is thrown out.

I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of hundreds of PAP members and former MPs are thrown into jail. We may even have to secure spaces in Indonesian jails to accommodate these greedy PAP politicians.

I look forward to that day. let 2016 come fast.

I am thinking that the Population white paper is not merely some attempt to boost up the GDP.

There must be other deep underlying issues.

1) SMEs need for cheap labor

PAPpy dogs are trying to do a quick fix for this problem caused by greedy landlords. When you have rental which is skyhigh, the only way to survive is to be truly innovative. As we all know, most businesses suck in this. Thus, the only solution is lower cost - i.e. cheap foreign labor.

2) Dilute voting base. Eventually if they can persuade many foreigners to convert to citizenship, this may swing the votes to their direction as foreigners are generally very grateful to Singapore for taking them in and away from their slum countries.

What do you guys think?

Perhaps the pap knows that SG is in deep trouble and is seeking a way to pass the problem to the next govt and make itself look good?
