Putin signs law banning advertising abortions

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law, which in particular bans advertising abortions and healing and also regulates other health care issues.
Putin has signed the law On Amending Certain Legislative Acts of Russia and on Recognizing Certain Provisions of Legislative Acts of Russia on Health Care of Russian Citizens as Void.
The federal law was passed by the Russian State Duma on November 15 and approved by the Federation Council on November 20.
According to the note of the state legal department posted on the Kremlin website, the amendments specify regulatory and legal form of medical enterprises and provisions related to patients' rights to receive medical care, volunteer consent for medical intervention or refusal from it, medical examinations and health screening and completing treatment in sanatoriums and resorts.
"The federal law introduces changes to the Russian law On Psychiatric Help and Ensuring Citizens' Rights When Providing It, which are aimed at specifying the types of organizations, where psychiatric help can be provided as well as conditions and order of providing it," the note said.
