普京说，如果有人试图这么做，那么他在这一尝试时将会给自己带来损失。无论如何，我认为这样做可能发展（的结果）是具有破坏性的，也是有害的。
普京说，当今很明显，没有亚洲国家根本无法解决全球性问题。亚洲国家展示出令人印象深刻的发展程度，同时它们仍保留了自己的独特性、传统以及根源。这说明国家主权的原则与全球化和开放性并不矛盾，它们可以在自主与独立的基础上进行可持续发展。
普京表示，不同国家应该共同努力，建设友善的合作环境并寻找共同的安全机制。中国正在实行世界一流的政策并准备好对（国际）事件的任何发展做出反应。中国领导人明白如何处理与美国的关系。
普京说，俄罗斯与中国的合作不针对其他人，过去是这样，现在也是这样。双方的合作是积极的，符合双方利益。俄反对建立类似北约的新集团。亚洲国家不想加入任何针对他人的集团，它们希望能建立一种能在不同方向进行合作的网络状环境。
瓦尔代国际辩论俱乐部由俄罗斯发起成立，每年举办一次年会，是世界各国政治家、学者交流互动的重要平台。
