more than 20 years ago, arrogant tang guan seng from the pap did nothing much to help the residents(former farmers) of hougang (80s new estate)despite pleas.
unhappiness was filling in the air but tang guan seng thought hougang ward will be secured by him no matter what. 1990, techow low thia khiang heard their voices... helped them in whatever ways he could sincerely. came 1991 GE, ltk took the seat under the nose of snobbish tang guan seng.
the rest is history.
former farmers... 1st generation of hougang hdb estate, many have since passed away or in ripe age. the 2nd will never forget how their parents suffered, and the 3rd generation will not forget how the PAP mistreated their grandparants and parents. and of coz, the 3rd generation are facing mistreatment from the PAP.
PAP sent teochew heng chee how on a mission to take back hougang but failed..... GE 1997 (i was naive then). despite securing much lesser votes than tang guan seng, heng cheew how was sent into parilament under the skirt of GRC in 2001 GE.
GE 2001, the PAP sent chiku low siak meng to contest, lost. PAP this time did not arranged to send him away. chiku low, as we used to call him rather friendly and looked since. some of us gave our votes to him. ltk valid votes dropped. and chiku low stood his ground and served thru the back door as grassroot advisor.
GE 2006. again, chiku low vs ltk. 日久见人心we were pissed off with chiku low throughout the years after the last GE.... kept hanging goodies before our eyes not never letting us eat it.... not even touch it!! and then gct came and teamed up with chiku to threaten us! they think we were rabbits! we threw the carrots back hard at them.... they ran away. we managed to get hold of chiku low, cursed him in teochew style PU NIA BU GAI CB and kicked him out of hougang!!!
GE 2011, desmond choo took over chiku. chiku low insulted us... no one in the PAP reprimanded him! coupled with past nonsense, threats and farkup policies. it was very obvious PAP had already forsaken us. we were sad that ltk had to leave but as he said in the rally... healthy democracy has to grow. ysl wasnt a stranger to us.... he was sincere in serving hougang smc. we gave him the votes.
though ysl was irresponsible for his "no comments" and acts but he served the residents as a real mp would do. WP took action and sacked him in front of the press... and this is something the PAP will NEVER dare to do it.
hougang by-election 2012, the majority of the residents know how the MSM work.... and how dirty PAP is in politics, both can never can't bluff us. the PAP fielded its worst speakers with lies flowing out of their mouths! and this election for the first time in hougang, the PAP played the dirtiest!
desmond choo can cry again for the second time.... crocodile tears! PU NIA @*% KOR CHEE!
