Alternative media omitted sentences from mainstream media reports to suit their agenda. It is equally amusing to see the reply of Reform Party's Secretary-General. Straitstimes has reported that Opposition politicians will be invited to national conversation.
The omission of that sentence (see the screen captures) has changed the context of the paragraph. Why did Publichouse omit that sentence?
I shall quote Andrew Loh, editor of Publichouse's words from an SDP article
"Carrying on the enthusiasm was Mr Andrew Loh of Publichouse.sg called on civil society actors to come together with political parties to effect change. Politics, he told the crowd, is not a dirty word. Dwelling on the issue of civil liberties, Mr Loh said that "at the end of the day, if we don't have rights, the Government will trample all over you." Political rights, he said, is the other side of the coin of economic issues. "
Of course. It is within Andrew Loh's rights to omit words to suit SDP's political agenda.
