The most underwhelming hawker centre I've encountered is at Jalan Kukoh. Many old folks too, very depressing place.

That place has a lot of good food at cheap prices. Most Sinkies probably don't even know its existence. The old housing estate is so obscured from the outside with just one high staircase from Havelock Road side.

Another obscure one is the hawker centre at Jalan Batu.

That place has no dessert stall and everyone is selling the same thing. There are many reasonably-priced chup chai png stalls there with very generous offerings though.
