距離選舉只剩最後9天，內政部長徐國勇今（15）日表示，政府對選舉暴力及賭盤絕對零容忍，警政署須完成勤務規劃及警力部署，做好查賄制暴及治安維護工作，民政司也要加強宣導投票日當日不得捐贈政治獻金。內政部統計，截至13日為止，全國各警察機關目前掌握1191件賄選情資，並已移送賄選案件207件1431人。

內政部今天下午召開部務會報，由警政署報告「因應九合一選舉與公民投票維安相關工作」，徐國勇提到，選舉活動已進入最後階段，警政署務必提高警覺，嚴防重大治安事件發生，並強化各候選人安全維護，做好選舉維安任務。
徐國勇再次重申，對於選舉暴力，絕對零容忍，不容許任何幫派分子假借政黨、社團、宗教等名義，破壞國家安全、危害社會治安，將貫徹嚴正執法決心，有信心選舉能公平乾淨、安全平順完成，並呼籲全國民眾理性看待選舉及公投結果，共同維護我國民主與法制。此外，也指示警政署確實要求各警察機關規劃投開票日分梯輪流投票，以保障員警投票權利。
內政部表示，為防範選舉糾紛，警政署已加強勤務部署，針對候選人人身、住居所、競選總部及造勢活動強化安全維護作為，嚴防危安狀況發生。另為全程瞭解選舉安維狀況，警政署與各直轄市、縣市警察局同步成立選舉治安維護聯合指揮所，並運用M-Police行動載具、重要路口錄影監視系統及高清視訊等科技設備，即時掌握現場狀況。
選前倒數階段，警政署持續要求所屬各警察機關加強掃蕩黑道幫派及選舉賭盤，並持續監控可疑人士，只要一有賄選行為，將立即啟動偵辦行動，絕不容許有賄選的機會。另戶政司亦通函各地戶政機關配合與警察機關建立幽靈人口查察合作機制，近期警方及檢調單位已查獲多起虛報遷徙案件。
內政部統計，截至13日為止，全國各警察機關目前掌握1,191件賄選情資，已移送賄選案件207件1,431人，移送案件更有15件業經檢察官起訴在案，56人經檢方向法院聲請羈押獲准，其中候選人身分為24人，各地區以嘉義縣警察局移送36件203人成效最為卓著。
此外，對於民眾如欲捐贈政治獻金給候選人，內政部也提醒，應依《政治獻金法》第12條規定，於11月23日前完成捐贈，投票日當日不得捐贈；另該法於捐贈者資格、金額、方式及處罰等均有規範，捐贈前應留心法律規定，避免觸法受罰。
