If S'porean white collar workers past 40 are losing their jobs in the tens of thousands every year, why is the unemployment rate still relatively low? The answer is that our local talents are being systematically replaced by foreigners with the govt's blessings. I was under the impression that foreigners were brought here to make up for our shortage of skilled labour. That should remain the objective of granting Employment Passes. However, in an effort to improve the bottom line, employers are feeding off cheap PME labour from the region and especially through CECA, in spite of official policies limiting the entry of new EP holders.

The 65% voted for it. Nothing to complain now.Wait 5 years later then complain.

As long as the Elections Dept remains under the Prime Minister's Office, the result will
remain the same as new citizens vote for the govt that bribed them with a pink NRIC.

Dr Tan See Leng seems to be talking about the PAP when he quoted that line from Andy Lau: "Even if I'd said it, you wouldn't listen to it. Even if you'd heard me, you wouldn't understand. Even if you understood, you wouldn't do it. Even if you did it, you would do it wrongly. Even if you did wrong, you wouldn't own up to it. Even if you owned up, you wouldn't correct yourself. Even if you corrected yourself, you did so begrudgingly. Then what am I supposed to do?" We all know that the PAP hears the people, but do not listen to us!
