TALLAHASSEE, FLA. – Prison officials in Florida and nationwide are fighting a different type of contraband being smuggled to inmates: cellphones.

They're being hidden in babies' diapers, Ramen Noodle Soup packages, footballs, soda cans and body cavities.

Two murderers used cellphones to plan their escape from a Florida prison last year where the state confiscated 11 cellphones per day in its prisons.

Even infamous murderer Charles Manson, imprisoned in California, has been caught with a cellphone, twice.

And two Indiana prisoners were convicted of using cellphones smuggled in by guards to run an operation that distributed methamphetamine, heroin and other drugs.
