President Sargsyan meets Singapore Minister Mentor

Singapore’s Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew has arrived in Armenia at the invitation of President Serzh Sargsyan. Lee Kuan Yew headed the Government of Singapore for 31 years as Singapore’s first Prime Minister.

Hosting the guest at the President’s Office, President Serzh Sargsyan said: “There are few people in the world, who would not admire the miracle of Singapore. Everyone understands that as the first Prime Minister, you have been the author and organizer of the work. Sure, this example is a very desirable for small countries.”

The President expressed confidence that Lee Kuan Yew’s visit would give new impetus to the historic Armenia-Singapore relations.

President Sargsyan awarded the Minister Mentor with a Medal of Honor. Lee Kuan Yew thanked for the award and said to be glad to have an opportunity to visit Armenia.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the model of development of Singapore and discussed the opportunities of holding consultations.
