The larger, sleeker and more powerful Microsoft Surface Pro 3 was just announced 12 hours ago in the US, but in Singapore, the online Microsoft Store already has it in their inventory listing with local prices; you can even pre-order a unit today! Here's how the various configurations are priced:-

Intel Core i3, 64GB storage and 4GB RAM - S$1,108
Intel Core i5, 128GB storage and 4GB RAM - S$1,348
Intel Core i5, 256GB storage and 8GB RAM - S$1,728
Intel Core i7, 256GB storage and 8GB RAM - S$2,138
Intel Core i7, 512GB storage and 8GB RAM - S$2,698
For those of you thinking about pre-ordering a unit, you might be wondering when it would be made available to you. A chat with the store's online sales representative seems to point that if you pre-order a Surface Pro 3 now, it will be made available to you by end of June - this is the same time frame when the US and Cananda customers will be able to purchase a unit directly from the online store, Microsoft retail store and other participating outlets (20 June to be exact). Local retail availability in your favorite electronics stores is slated for end of August.

So if you would like to be one of the earliest to own the new Surface Pro 3, go ahead to pre-order it (although we would have preferred it to come with a few more pre-order perks).

Important accessories like the optional Surface Pro Type Cover (black, red, cyan and purple) are each priced at S$183, while an extra Surface Pen will set you back S$73.

For more information on all you need to know about the new Surface Pro 3, check out our earlier news piece.

It's too expensive. People who want a proper laptop would get one at a fraction of the price.

People who want a tablet will get the iPad.

The madness persists at Microsoft even when Ballmer is no longer the CEO.

Recently, I traded in my iPad Mini 32GB wifi for a 128GB wifi with cellular & retina display for $900+, the first iPad mini was a gift & I needed the 128GB space for music, for my purchased & ripped music is almost 128GB....comparing this with the surface 3....it is a world apart.

The reason I did not buy the iPad air for the same capacity...was the size...I wanted it more for music storage than anything else..ok! I have looked at the AK100, AK100MK 2, AK120 & even the latest AK device...even the latest sony 128GB music storage...

Over pricing tablet because of Microshit software. Microsoft still want to milk from sales of software.
Google can make it better and cheaper by 50%. Basically free OS(Freemium).

Precisely. I can get a light 11 inch laptop, with more functionality, at a lower price.
