This time the organizers stiffened up and at 5 pm on the Republic square, 11 activists were not only tattooed, but also branded with hot iron, which is regularly used around the world to brand farmed animals. This public act aims to bring attention to the pain and suffering we, the people, cause to billions of animals without even considering, that all living beings feel pain equally to us, humans.

Admit I love to eat meat, and that good culinary skills make a big difference whenever I have to choose where I eat. I have on some occasions been the person responsible for slaughtering of the food we eat and because I have done it since I was a child, I am able to not feel the guilt or conscience of doing so. It has often crossed my mind that city folk are removed from the actual killing of animals and do not see or feel the pain. Perhaps schools should organize tours to abattoirs as part of the education program in their teachings so kids will know where their friend chicken, or grilled meats come from.
