13-year-old en route to S’pore dies after being flung from car on highway in Melaka

MELAKA - A 13-year-old girl was killed after being flung from a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and landing on the opposite lane in a road tragedy along KM189.1 of the North-South Expressway in Jasin.

Jasin OCPD Supt Mohamad Rusli Mat identified the victim as Iris Sofea Mohamed Siddiq Khan, who died at the scene following the incident at 7.54am on June 27.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the MPV, which was travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, suffered a burst front right tyre.

How to prevent Tyre burst ?

Instead of bursting, how to make our Tyre slowly deflating so that drivers are aware of Tyre malfunction ?

“The 36-year-old driver subsequently lost control of the vehicle, which struck a guardrail along the expressway. The impact of the collision caused the victim to be ejected from the vehicle, landing on the opposite lane, where she was hit by another car,” he said on June 27.

I don't think there is anyway to prevent besides

1. Driving at a low speed so that when it burst, your chances of survival will be higher.
2. Don't even sit or take a car unless the driver always drives slowly.

Even you buy a good tyre or have it leegularly check it can still burst when it want to.

The driving instructor school didn't teached us nor have any topic pertaining to a car safety.

Any problem we noticed during our routine check early in the morning before lesson begins, we just send it, few metres away to the workshop.

The school only focus on squeezing in as much time as possible for more slots.
The longer hours we are willing to commit ourselves, the happier they are.
