Policeman kills pregnant restaurant owner

A police officer shot and killed a pregnant woman on Monday night in Guigang's Pingnan County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Beijing Youth Daily has learned from local police authorities.
The suspect surnamed Hu, a 33-year-old criminal police officer, fired his gun at Ms. Wu, a noodle restaurant owner who was halfway through her pregnancy, resulting in the death of both the woman and her unborn child. Her husband, who hurried to the scene upon hearing the gunshot, was shot in the shoulder by the same assailant.
The officer had got drunk, according to unofficial information. Witnesses claimed the suspect had pointed his gun at one customer in the restaurant before asking the owner if they also served milk tea. When the reply turned out to be "no," the officer fired his gun.
Police authorities in Guigang have yet to provide more details of the incident, but have stated Hu is now in custody pending further investigation.
