The police are looking for a man who fled on foot after the car he was driving collided with four other vehicles on Nov 4.

SINGAPORE – The police are searching for a man who fled on foot after the car he was driving collided with four other vehicles in Telok Blangah on the morning of Nov 4.

The police said their officers had been patrolling in Telok Blangah Drive at about 8.30am when they spotted a car that had mounted a kerb.

The driver drove off suddenly as the police officers were checking on him.

A police pursuit then followed, during which the car collided with two other cars, a van and a bus. The driver then fled on foot along Telok Blangah Hill.

An e-vaporiser was found in the car, and the related offence will be referred to the Health Sciences Authority, the police said, adding that investigations are ongoing.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted to a traffic accident near the junction of Telok Blangah Drive and Telok Blangah Street 32 at about 8.35am.

A 48-year-old male motorist was conscious when taken to Singapore General Hospital, the authorities said.

In a media reply, SBS Transit spokesperson Grace Wu said bus service 131 was travelling straight on the extreme left lane of Henderson Road when it was rear-ended by a car.

Passengers on board were transferred to another bus to continue their journey, she added.

In a video uploaded on Singapore Road Vigilante’s Facebook page, a police car is seen stopped behind a public bus at a traffic junction. One officer rushes out and disappears behind the bus, while another goes to the front entrance of the vehicle.

The police officer and a red car then appear from behind the bus, with the officer moving out of the way as the car mounts the kerb, goes into the opposite lane and drives off after turning right.

The logo of car rental company Drive Lah can be seen on the side of the car.

Later in the video, the red car is seen filtering into a two-lane road and swerving between the lanes before hitting the back of another public bus, with both vehicles then stopping.

Smoke can be seen coming out of the red car’s damaged bonnet.

In another scene, a heavily tattooed man wearing a black T-shirt and white shorts is seen running in slippers on the pavement, seemingly in Henderson Road, before turning into Telok Blangah Green.

He appears to be holding something in his right hand, and frequently turns back to look at the person in the vehicle recording the video.
