TAWAU (Sept 24, 2013): The police are on the trail of an Indonesian man suspected of murdering a lorry driver in a logging camp at KM38, Jalan Kalabakan-Keningau, last Saturday.

Tawau deputy police chief Supt Keong Ho Eng said the man, known as Mamat La'ane, 37, was believed to have murdered his colleague Roslan Nurdin, 35, about 4 pm that day.

"We believe that Mamat is still in Tawau. Anyone with information of his whereabouts is urged to contact the nearest police station," he told reporters here today.

According to Keong, the workers at the camp witnessed the victim running to the timber factory with his head and body covered in blood. He collapsed and died upon reaching it.

Roslan leaves behind a wife and three children in Sandakan. On the day of the incident the suspect, carrying a machete, had also met his brother-in-law and told him that he had stabbed someone, he added. – Bernama
