A man tried to lure a school boy away from an excursion in an attempted abduction at Melbourne Aquarium, it is alleged.
Police have released CCTV footage of the incident on April 10 in the hope that someone will recognise the man.
It is alleged the man entered the foyer of the aquarium where a group of primary school-aged children from an eastern-suburbs activity group had gathered.
Police said he spoke to two adults before approaching the young boy.
He called him by the incorrect name and attempted to coax him away from the group, police said.

One of the adults then intervened and the man left.
He was last seen boarding an east-bound tram on Flinders Street.
Detectives from the Melbourne Sexual Offences and and Child Abuse team have made a number of enquiries, but are yet to identify the man.

It is believed to be an isolated incident.
The man is described as being Caucasian, aged between 50 and 60 years of age, around 183cm tall with a medium build and partially bald and greying hair.
He was wearing a black jacket, back pants and black shoes.
