Police detain alleged rapist-killer of 13-year-old girl

A man who allegedly raped and killed a 13-year-old girl in a corn field in north China's Hebei province was detained by police early Sunday.
The man, 42, surnamed Gao, has confessed to police in Anxin County that he raped the girl before killing her in the morning on Sept.4.
Gao dragged the girl surnamed Dong, who was on her way to school, to the corn field, raped and killed her.
The man had previous criminal record and did not know the girl, police said.
