KUALA LUMPUR: Police today confirmed to have received a report from a man, who claimed his wife was having an affair with her co-worker.

Serdang district police chief Assistant Commissioner A. Anbalaga, when contacted, confirmed to have received the police report.

He said the case has been referred to the Penampang district police in Sabah for further action

Previously, a man from Sabah went viral after offering RM500 to anyone who can help track down a man alleged to be having an affair with his wife.

The post included 10 screenshots of his wife's WhatsApp conversations with a doctor she had worked with while they were both stationed in Makkah as health officials from June to August last year.

The man shared that he discovered his wife's infidelity last month after reading the WhatsApp conversations.

He proceeded to file a police report with the Seri Kembangan police on July 5. Infidelity is considered an offence under Section 37 of Shariah Criminal Offense Act 1997

If found guilty, the individuals involved may face a fine of up to RM2,000 or imprisonment for up to one year, or both.
