Police arrest 27-year-old man for mini-mart burglary

SINGAPORE : The police have arrested a 27-year-old man for breaking into a mini-mart and making off with cash of about S$1,000 and more than 400 pieces of phone cards.
The phone cards have an estimated value of S$3,000.
At about 11.50am on Wednesday, police were informed of a break-in at a mini-mart located at Jalan Papan.
The owner had closed his mini-mart at about midnight on Tuesday and discovered the phone cards and cash missing when he opened for business the next morning at about 11.00am.
From CCTV footage, officers established the identity of the suspect and arrested him at about 5.00pm at his workplace on the same day.
The suspect will be charged in court on Friday.
