SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will make an official visit to China from Sunday till next Saturday, at the invitation of Premier Li Keqiang.
The Prime Minister's Office said besides Beijing, Mr Lee will also visit the Xinjiang region and Liaoning Province.
In Beijing, Prime Minister Lee will call on President Xi Jinping.
Premier Li Keqiang will meet and host Mr Lee to lunch at the Great Hall of the People.
In Xinjiang, Mr Lee will be hosted to a welcome dinner by Communist Party of China Politburo member and Xinjiang Party Secretary Zhang Chunxian.
Prime Minister Lee will visit the cities of Urumqi, Shihezi and Kashgar for an update on local developments.
In Liaoning, Mr Lee will meet Liaoning Party Secretary Wang Min. He will also be visiting Singapore and Chinese companies in Liaoning.
PM Lee will be accompanied by Mrs Lee, Acting Minister for Manpower and Senior Minister of State for National Development Tan Chuan-Jin and Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and for National Development Lee Yi Shyan.
They will also be joined by Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education and for Manpower Hawazi Daipi, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education and for Communications & Information Sim Ann, Member of Parliament Liang Eng Hwa and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Trade and Industry.
During the prime minister's absence, Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, who is also the co-ordinating minister for national security and minister for home affairs, will be the acting prime minister.
