PM gives warning to Ministers...

If they pay high and still find failures then it only means their warped logic is not full-proof. Worse yet, they again put the onus on themselves to be the law, jury and the judge in deciding matters.

He should be reminded that it is Singaporeans too who can decide which MP, minister or PM should leave political office. 2016!!!

PM Lee on Ministers: Underperformers will be phased out, but discreetly

"Negligent or dishonest ministers will be sacked, but ministers who do not perform well despite their best efforts will be moved to a less demanding portfolio, or, if necessary, phased out discreetly," he said.

This is encouraging to read. However, one can't help but question about the regularity of this happening. Once every 5 years based on electorate's sentiment?

The last cabinet reshuffle happened only after last year's 'watershed' GE.

Do singaporeans need to pay 5 years worth of mega salary for an under-performing minister until the next election??

The PM should also give warning to his Ministars And MPs not to Talk Cock about Carrot Cakes and other Stupid Anal-logies...

Don't worry, when the Old Man dies, LHL will be ousted by certain PAP members.

Once your 'mountain of refuge' is permanently out of the picture, the knives will be out.

It will be interesting, to say the least.

Yes...there wud be infighting...

In any one Party, there is always another Party...

It is clear that the old Lee is determine to get GCT out of the way, to shave away the threat to his son..Of the three Singapore Prime minister, LKY is most powerful and influential, then comes GCT as the most senior politician in the Singapore scene. LHL is just a newbie and thus vulnerable. So when LKY passes on, LHL position is more precarious.

This GCT is made to relinquish his post as Senior Minister.. when LKY and GCT step down together...And also, why is Tin Pei Ling in Marine parade GRC when clearly there is an instant vacant slot in Tg Pagar ..?? She is there to undermine GCT camp and gives it as much negativity as possible.

Also, why is George Yeo moved out..??? cos this man stature in the international scene is getting too uncomfortable for LHL. We lose a good man in George Yeo because of this political in-fighting.

Anyway, Singapore will progress forward without the Lees. It will be for the better if other capable men comes on board.

I reckon if given a chance, CSM or Sylvia will make excellent PMs.

yes i think CSM in particular has the elements , gravitas, credibility and soon the experience.

He has good potential.

YOU know about the bonus when ministers help the country (WHEN???) and Singaporeans do well(AGAIN! WHEN???).

But there's also a price to pay when they flop(AGAIN ANOTHER SPLIT BAMBOO QUESTION! WHEN???).

Yesterday in Parliament, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong spelt out the terms:

"Negligent or dishonest ministers will be sacked(HAIZ! WHEN???), but ministers who do not perform well despite their best efforts will be moved to a less demanding portfolio(OH! REALLY!!! WHEN??? AFTER THE TENTH FAILURE???), or, if necessary, phased out discreetly(AGAIN!!! WHEN???," he said.

The phasing out of ministers is a delicate matter which must be handled with dignity and decorum, he added (DOES IT INCLUDE HIMSELF? THUS NEVER PHASED OUT AS HE IS SERIOUSLY THE LEADER OF THIS PACK!!!!!).

Personally i think there is no one better at the moment, even if we base this purely on merit.

This statement is why 99% of singaporeans complain about Pap yet 60% still vote for them.... the result of 46-and-a-half years of single party rule.

Singapore will not sink without LKY or his son or his self serving cronies.

Zorro: "Why everyone looking at me huh?"

60 % in 2011 but what is significant is the trend. If it continues in this direction then 2016 would be worrying for the PAP.

If the Opposition can capitalise on this trend then who knows what may happen.

But ultimately it boils down to hard work by the interested parties, hence the PM's wake up call to his people.
