What 6 buses burnt in AMK?
There was no such incident.
Don't you dare say there was. :(

it's already reported in the mainstream papers. dun think anyone will deny it didn't happen.

only question is how the matter was resolved. ie: written off, repaired, etc.

Usually not so fast. they have to investigate the cause of fire. then determine whose fault. most likely they will want to say it is a manufacturers defect and claim damages against Volvo.

In an extraordinary incident, the top of a double-decker bus was cleanly sliced off by an overhanging tree branch along Bukit Timah Road. A total of four passengers suffered injuries.

STOMPer Rachel was at the scene, and told us in an email today (May 13):

"An extraordinary accident saw the roof sliced clean off the top of a double-decker bus in Singapore.

"The SBS Transit double-decker bus (Service 174, SBS7499A) was travelling along Bukit Timah Road on the afternoon of May 12 when it collided with an overhanging tree branch."

STOMP contacted the police for more information, and this was what they had to say:

"Police received a call yesterday at about 4.20pm informing us about a fallen tree branch found on a public bus along Bukit Timah Road towards Upper Bukit Timah Road after Sixth Avenue.

"A total of four passengers suffered injuries and were conveyed conscious to NUH.

"Police investigations are ongoing."

this is almost like a scene out of the movies.

Bus crashes into traffic light at Woodlands

<--- http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sgseen/this_urban_jungle/410776/bus_crashes_into_traffic_light_at_woodlands.html

This bus mounted the curb and crashed headlong
into the traffic light at Woodlands this morning.
Broken pieces of the traffic light were scattered on the ground.
STOMPer Dave sent STOMP picture of the accident and said:
"This is taken today at woodland around 11am.

"I hope the driver is alright!"

Another accident

are the accidents a result of the new drivers, or is it just a statistical higher numbers due to the increase in numbers of buses?

Second Transport Minister Lim Hwee Hua said that commuters who feel there are more bus accidents recently should look at accident cases over time, instead of how many happened this year.

She added that by doing so, commuters might find they have benefited.

SINGAPORE : An accident between a double-decker bus Service Number 87 and a large tree-pruning vehicle left a 50-year-old male passenger dead and several others injured on Friday.

The collision occurred along Chai Chee Street in Bedok.

Police have arrested a 33-year-old Bangladeshi foreign worker from the landscape management company for causing death by negligence.

Shattered glass windows, a fallen tree, and major traffic congestion were the result of the accident which left one dead and eight passengers - including a pregnant woman - injured.

The bus was behind the lorry when it went to the middle lane. But little did the bus driver know that the head of the crane was protruding into the middle lane, and this scraped against the side of the bus.

The loud sound from the collision attracted hundreds of residents from nearby blocks.

One resident said: "Like glass shattering. It sounded massive and sharp."

A second commented: "I saw them moving the victims down from the upper deck. It looked quite serious."

Three bus passengers were taken to hospitals, while others refused treatment, citing minor injuries.

Both the bus driver and crane operator were not injured in the accident.

They remained calm and silent while clean-up work was going on. - CNA/ms

Bus driver blind? Cannot see the crane. And how many crane accident/year.
