BRUSSELS - SOMALI pirates have released a Singapore-flagged container ship after 10 weeks in captivity, the EU naval task force Atalante said on Monday. The Kota Wajar was released outside Haradere off the Somali coast and the Canadian warship HMCS Fredericton is providing it with medical and logistical assistance, the task force said in a statement. The container ship and its 21-member crew had been hijacked by pirates in the Indian Ocean some 300 nautical miles (540km) north of the Seychelles on Oct 15. -- AFP

The ship owner can collect money from the shippers for whatever they have paid. The victims are the shippers unless they have proper insurance cover.
