Man jailed 6 weeks for filming male stranger using toilet at Lot One Shoppers’ Mall​

SINGAPORE — When Muhammad Ath’ari Zulkifli was caught red-handed filming a man using the toilet at a Chua Chua Kang mall, he gave the victim a fake contact number so the authorities could not find him.

He was still nabbed later. During investigations, he also confessed to secretly recording videos of other men masturbating in mall toilets.

On Wednesday (Aug 17), the 30-year-old Singaporean was sentenced to six weeks’ jail. He pleaded guilty to one count of voyeurism, with another charge taken into consideration for sentencing.

The court heard that Ath’ari was in a second-floor toilet at Lot One Shoppers’ Mall on Aug 11, 2021.

He then heard a 26-year-old man in the adjacent cubicle, and decided to take a video recording of him.

He positioned his mobile phone over the divider between the two cubicles. The victim noticed the device and hurriedly got ready to leave the cubicle.
This prompted Ath’ari to retract his mobile phone and run out of the toilet.

The victim chased him and shouted for help. Ath’ari was then detained by some passersby at the ground floor of the mall, before a security officer escorted him and the victim to the security office.

There, the victim confronted Ath’ari who apologised and pleaded for another chance.

With Ath’ari’s consent, the other man looked through the gallery of Ath’ari’s mobile phone and asked him to delete all videos he had taken. Ath’ari complied.

The victim then asked for his contact number in case he decided to lodge a police report. Ath’ari gave him a fake one.

During investigations, Ath’ari admitted that on an unknown number of occasions in the past, he had filmed male persons masturbating in the toilets of shopping malls without their consent.

He also claimed he would delete these videos on the same day after viewing them.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Lee Wei Liang sought eight to 10 weeks’ jail, which did not take into account the two weeks that Ath’ari was remanded for psychiatric observation.

His lawyer Sharifah Ally asked for four to five weeks’ jail instead, saying he did not show premeditation in comparison to other similar cases.

Atha’ri will begin serving his sentence on Aug 31 after asking for time to find someone to handle his jobs. He is self-employed, Ms Ally told the court.

For voyeurism, he could have been jailed for up to two years, fined, caned, or punished with any combination of the three.

Sadly, this is NOT an uncommon case. Many men over decades had suffered such instances of harassment, from....obviously born physical characteristics of man & yet they voyeur, invade the privacy of heterosexual men & male kids, & even inclined the hormonally charged among men to engage in sexual acts with them. Even born women with female physical characteristics would not do such or be as bold as them such as following men into a male's toilet under normal circumstances.

Sentencing such...genderless abnormality males to a male or female jail would be a mistake. In this modern age of interconnectiveness thru the internet, one can easily find kinship among their behavior, & even advices. Going to jail even for a few weeks would be what they had wanted, as it will provide 3 hot meals & a shelter, & the best - a chance to ogle at others when prison inmates shower together, & assist their sexual needs freely by inmates whom have hormonal drives to use them.

Thus it is no wonder Humanity whom sought to elevate the Human species, are often at a loss on what to do with them. Help them to mentally change their perspectives but naive altruistic heterosexual Humans used by homosexuals would scream torture. Refuse to help them - their harassment will only get bolder.

W.H.O had declared Monkeypox, which had been proven by scientific evidences that it originated & spread thru homosexual activities, a global health emergency. Something must be done to prevent further spread before it becomes an epidemic & threatens Humanity's survival as happened during the painful & useless COVid lockdowns for 2yrs that had affected all lives in social & economic issues, evident even in China senseless lockdowns today.

Instead of putting them in prison which they would desire & would be only counter-productive to fearful legislators seeking their vote, perhaps put up their faces in print at full view & description of their charged crime at toilet entrances in MRTs or any public recreation areas such as swimming pools, etc, to warn heterosexuals of such men & avoid them may be better. Firstly, it would certainly put the culprit off that he would have no luck to harass anyone with his face in full view, 2ndly, it would deter others such as him that public shame will be applied to them, & thirdly, it would save taxpayers monies to fund such men's lust in prison.

Even EU, whom sought to be the forefront of Human Rights challenges, would have no issues over such displays as sexual harassment is a crime to them too & criminals' photographs are displayed full view in their mainstream media regularly.

Furthermore, this way may help such abnormal men save their lives, as their sexual contacts would be limited & the monkeypox virus spread stopped from outside prison, even if just by one, & save inmates from the virus from such irresponsible behavior by homosexuals in free society.
