it's not about him.

it's about apple. and it's quite true.

the money is not really in the hardware. it's mostly software. to move $1M worth of iPod, iPhone, iPad.. there's so much extra that ones need to pay for. ie: fuel for the truck. the truck driver's wages, the tolls, etc.

to move $1M of Apps, it takes around 1M buy clicks. and it's all virtually. via the net that's already established. and then, as the clicks keep on coming, they (apps developers) keep on generating more revenue.

similar idea behind Google. they are a search company. mostly all software. (they do have hardware stuff like search appliances, mobile DC, DR stuff etc.) but the big money is in the adsense, adwords. *96% as ofr 2009.
