I have just seen this movie and have the following comments.
Whilst I found it mildly amusing in parts, I couldn't help but have the feeling it was all one big PR stunt for MINDEF. As a piece of slapstick comedy entertainment it was ok but will it help appease the growing number of Singaporeans who think their sacrifices are for the well being and protection of SG and not of the ever increasing foreign freeloaders, I don't think so.
Jack Neo has the knack of tugging at the heartstrings of his audience and he plays the 'patriotism' and 'emotion' cards quite well in this film but to me it was just another popcorn movie.
