How come those who also have $$$$ to buy integrated medishield-life plans also receive these generous subsidies? Even those with private plans which entitle them to healthcare in private hospitals?

Shouldn't people who can afford integrated medishield-life healthcare plans be categorised as rich people and therefore DISQUALIFIED from receiving basic medishield-life subsidies?

Is GST also being raised by 2% in 2021 to subsidise the healthcare costs of private insurance plans when it has already been shown that through medishield-life, the poor are already subsidising the healthcare costs of the rich by approx 40% of their premiums paid since approx 2/3 have private insurance plans and it is proven that those with private insurance and riders claim 2.04X more on average per cohort group than those with private plans but without riders covering the co-payment and deductable healthcare costs: https://forums.fuckwarezone.com.sg/...ch-rob-poor-peoples-life-savings-5946620.html

Since people who choose or can afford private healthcare insurance plans cannot be defined as poor by any measure (just like those who choose private car transportation or stay in expensive private properties also opt to shun subsidised public transportation/ housing or cheaper/FOC transport options like bicycle/PMD use), such people should also not be entitled to any medishield-life subsidies so long as they choose to rely on private healthcare insurance plans (unless it can be proven that they have a medical condition whose treatment is solely available in a private healthcare setting or only available to private patients in public hospitals).

The price of one private medishield-life integrated plan itself may cost more than the annual value of an entire HDB flat or even some smaller private property residences. To subsidise people enjoying such lavishness is akin to raising GST to subsidise the costs of meals at a 3 stars Michelin restaurant which is certainly a great travesty if not a great waste of tax payers $$$:

Singapore government thus has no business to increase rates of regressive GST taxes in order to squander the funds on private insurance plan subscribers who willingly splurge up to S$16,600 p.a. on their healthcare insurance plans, with obviously no need for basic medishield-life subsidies in the first place.
