[h=2]Trapped passenger’s leg in Clementi MRT station caused delay along East-West line last night[/h]Posted by temasektimes on April 12, 2012
SMRT trains along the East-West line were delayed for between 10 to 15 minutes due to a passenger’s leg being trapped in gap between the train and the platform at Clementi MRT station.
The incident happened at around 6.50pm in the evening. According to eye-witnesses, the 13 year old teenager was alighting from a west-bound MRT train when his right leg was stuck in the gap between the train and the platform.
One alert passenger pressed the emergency button on the train and SMRT staff called the SCDF which arrived in time to help rescue the distressed passenger who suffered abrasions to his right knee.
Some responses on Facebook:
“The train I took at ard 8pm overshot & missed tamp station & went to Pasir Ris. As usual they blamed it to the “TECHNICAL FAULT” CRAP!~” – Connie Yeo
“just alighted clementi awhile ago, i think got people fall or kanna giap by the mrt door trying to chiong in. too bloody crowded.. “ – Pak Ru Bo
“Alighted at Outram at 7pm due to a train fault..” – Sherry Teo

Not unusual. There are a lot of pushing and shoving nowadays as everyone is trying to get on/off. It does not help when the train doors goes beep beep beep. Makes people more anxious.

Hi Sinkies. How's the 5.1 million population? Do you like it? LOL. :D

Recommend everyone start using bigger shoes especially if you are small in size:D

Actually, if someone were to wear bigger sized shoes, there will be a higher tendency for accidents due to the poor gripping of the toes.

Then you'll probably have problems with peoples pinkies or socks getting jammed. Just look at the number of escalator woes that keep popping up in our malls ;)

The only solution is to ban those with small feet from using the MRT system. Or get them to use bigger shoes that will not slip through those tiny gaps. It may sounds silly but where else do you hear of other MRT systems experiencing the same problems:confused:
